Super Paper Mario (Wii): First Impressions
We picked Super Paper Mario for the Wii yesterday at Target. 5 seconds after returning home I had the box open and was seconds away from playing.
The concept of this game is very cool. You have the ability to switch back and forth from3D and 2D, making for a very interesting dynamic never before seen in a Mario game.
The overall game thus far is still a little easy, but I’m sure the difficulty will increase as time goes by and I get to higher levels. The game fuses RPG elements with the classic Mario genre. You pickup items, level up, and have to talk with people, but there are no battle screens or mana.
The only problem I have with the game thus far is the story. Man o man, where is the “skip this crap” option? It drug on for 20 minutes before I ever played a single level! What happened to putting the story in the booklet and just letting the game start?
So far I’m very much enjoying the game and hope it only gets better from here.
